World premier for ASP-based agricultural video surveillance

The Finnish Agricultural Data Processing Centre Ltd. (Maatalouden Laskentakeskus Oy, MLOY) and ASAN Security Technologies have together released a cutting edge video surveillance solution tailor-made for professional use in farming.

The surveillance application allows the farmer to remotely supervise livestock and production facilities, using just a PC, an internet connection and a password to access the system. Based on an ASP (Application Service Provider) model, all servers and software are located at the Agricultural Data Processing Centre. Moreover, the Centre takes care of all necessary system updates and maintenance as well as helpdesk and support services to end-users.

On the annual Finnish Agricultural Exhibition, FARMARI, held from 26th to 29th of July in Kuopio, potential users had the possibility to see the surveillance solution in use. Both at MLOY?s stand in the main exhibition hall and at a nearby exhibition farm the surveillance solution had been installed.

?Our pilot installations have received very positive feedback from the exhibition visitors. There certainly is considerable market potential for agricultural video surveillance. Using ASAN technology, we seem to be able to cover this demand in a fantastic way. We are proud to be able to lead the Finnish agriculture technology towards a leading position in the international scene." says MLOY senior vice president Christian Jurvanen.

?The co-operation with the MLOY team has been very rewarding, not least due to their professionalism and extensive know-how in the agricultural segment. We have been very pleased to see how well our technology has performed within this ASP-application. We are also really excited about the new video technology features and concepts we are about to add to our video ASP platform during the next 12 months. Those are the true fruits of our co-operation with MLOY." adds ASAN?s CEO Antti Laine.

The video surveillance solution is already commercially available for farms in the Kuopio region. During this year and the next year the Agricultural Data Processing Centre will continuously expand the availability of the system to all regions of Finland, using local partners for camera and network installations.
